HCGA is pleased to support young people working towards their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), as well as students undertaking work experience as part of their secondary education.
HCGA has also been hosting Imperial College London medical students for sessions every autumn since 2018 on a community group placement as part of their BSc in Global Health. Read more here.
Placements provide an opportunity to gain practical experience in horticulture, environmental conservation and community engagement while developing valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving and confidence. Young people work alongside our staff and volunteers, contributing to projects that support biodiversity, food growing and greener neighbourhoods, while gaining an insight into the work of a community environmental charity.
