It has been another great edition of our Winter Walks programme at HCGA. While our regular volunteer sessions pause for the winter, there is still plenty going on.
Each year we organise a series of free walks and trips to help people stay active and reduce social isolation during the colder months. The walks are open to HCGA volunteers from all of our projects, as well as local people who want to get outside, discover new places and spend time with others.
This winter 65 people joined us across 15 different walks and events. Along the way we visited a wide range of places across London. Highlights included workshops at the Royal Academy of Arts, the British Library and the British Museum. We also had guided tours of the Houses of Parliament, the Aga Khan Centre and Horsenden Hill Farm, exclusive access to our own room at Kensington Palace, as well as interesting visits to Tate Britain, Serpentine Gallery, Hampton Court Palace and more. It is also an opportunity to meet new people, have conversations and enjoy lunch together.
If you would like to take part in next year’s Winter Walks programme, or any of our other events during the year, make sure you sign up to the HCGA newsletter to hear about them first.
This year our winter events have been made possible by our local fundraising activities.
