Men in Sheds

HCGA has been running a Men in Sheds project for three years.  Men who participate are free to work on their own projects such as woodwork, bike maintenance, gardening etc.  Our fantastic Men in Sheds group meet several times a week and maintain Godolphin Gardens as well as work on their own projects. We have purchased bike maintenance equipment as several participants are interested in this. For more information please contact info@hcga.org.uk

What is a Men’s Shed? (taken from the Men in Sheds Association website)

A Men’s Shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. A Men’s Shed offers this to a group of such men where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where men come together to work.

Members of the HCGA Men in Sheds project are a vital part of the local community, helping to keep Godolphin Garden a welcoming green space for everyone.
