HCGA has been delivering educational sessions for over thirty years. We have a team of school gardeners who provide environmental education sessions in schools on a weekly basis. These include formal curriculum-linked activities as well as lunchtime and after school clubs. We also guide groups on how to make their premises more environmentally friendly and give technical growing advice. We run CPD sessions for those working with children and can host bespoke sessions for all school staff at our sites.
We have built up a collection of activities and have worked with many other organisations in the borough, running one-off workshops, short-term projects and longer-term contracts around growing, food and environmental art.
During the school holidays we run environmental play actvities at all our sites which are open to children of all ages
HCGA deliver short courses for Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Adult Education Departments. These include herbal activities, introduction to gardening and a walks programme. We have also delivered cross-curricular activities such as a 6 week art and gardening course.
