It was wonderful to welcome 28 people to our Penfold Age Well Centre garden lunch in August. It was great to see so many people enjoying the garden and spending time together. We started the day with a little gardening and we were delighted to welcome some new participants, so we showed them around the garden and encouraged them to join our weekly Gardening Club.
We then sat down to enjoy a healthy two-course meal, including a selection of salads featuring tomatoes, cucumbers and chives lovingly grown in the garden. We also enjoyed grapes and refreshing herbal teas, all prepared with care by our wonderful group of volunteers. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the lunch such a lovely occasion.
We look forward to welcoming more new participants and seeing our garden community continue to grow. The Gardening Club meets every Thursday morning and if you are interested in volunteering here, please email volunteering@hcga.org.uk or fill in this form.
