CPD: Primary Plant Science in Action for Primary School Teachers and School Staff

Come along to our FREE training session that offers a unique opportunity for primary school staff to gain practical gardening skills. We will cover practical ways for teachers to cover primary plant science objectives and help you to plan your gardening year at school.

The training is open to all school staff who want to gain confidence in leading gardening sessions with pupils or teachers who want to deliver plant science in practical ways.

We strongly encourage a minimum of two delegates from each school to attend this unique course. This will enable the school to retain the expertise within the school in case of staffing changes.

Learning outcomes: topics covered will be:

1. Identifying and naming common garden plants and wild plants
2. Choosing & preparing a growing site
3. Learning what to sow and when
4. Learning how to care for your incredible edible plants
5. Plant life cycles, parts of the flower, pollination, seed formation & fertilisation
6. Composting

*For anyone wishing to join who does not work in schools in RBKC or LBHF boroughs, there will be a fee of £50 per delegate payable on the day.
