Aisgill Community Hub is a community centre in West Kensington run by Earls Court Development Company. HCGA maintains their beautiful garden and runs a gardening club every Thursday morning, which is open to all members of the local community, encouraging them to connect with nature, learn new skills and build relationships. Their hard work was rewarded by being awarded as ‘Outstanding’ in the RHS London in Bloom competition in 2025.
The garden is looked after in such a way to encourage biodiversity and promote environmental sustainability, as well as providing a space for people and communities. Having both kitchen garden and ornamental planting areas, the volunteers participating in the gardening club enjoy experiencing and learning about a whole range of gardening techniques.
HCGA also runs nature-based activities and workshops for the Hub and its event days, such as nature-craft for children during school holidays and wreath making for Christmas. Together, these activities help reduce barriers to accessing nature, strengthen community connections and encourage environmental action at a local level.
