Co-op Fundraising Success!
CO-OP Local Community Cause Update
A huge thank you to all of those who have become a member of Co-op and selected us as their local community cause over the last 12 months. We raised a whopping £3,355.22 which helped fund our Get Out There! programme for volunteers who are long-term unemployed. We are very excited because we have been lucky enough to be chosen again this year as one of Co-op’s local community causes!
If you shop at the Co-op anywhere in the UK, please do become a member for £1 by joining at www.coop.co.uk/membership then please select Hammersmith Community Gardens Association as your local community cause https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/68138 which will mean that until October 2023, every time you shop at a Co-op and scan your membership card, you will help us to keep running our therapeutic gardening sessions at Phoenix Farm in White City.
Once you’re a member, every £1 members spend on selected Co-op branded products and services, 1p will go directly to your chosen cause and Co-op will match the funding as well! All you need to remember, is to scan your membership card every time you shop in Co-op.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Volunteers at Phoenix Farm come from a range of backgrounds, but many are on a low income and/or have mental or physical health problems. The local area has a high density of flats without gardens. The project will enable local school children and adults to spend time outdoors, learning where food comes from and how to grow it, as well as taking home fresh produce.
