Opening of Godolphin Garden’s Time Capsule after 26 Years!
We had a brilliant turn out for our Godolphin Gardens event last Saturday. Despite the heavy rain, it was great to see so many local residents, some of our amazing HCGA volunteers and former and current pupils from Miles Coverdale and St Stephen’s Primary schools. The artist, Amanda Lebus, who worked the the pupils in 1996 to create ceramic leaves, even made it down, as well as HCGA’s director, Cathy Maund.
Local resident, Jahmeki and her family, served up their delicious vegan Caribbean food, while everyone looked through the treasures that had been put inside the time capsule 26 years ago! Some of the pupils who put items inside the time capsule in 1996 even turned up!
We are looking forward to reinstating the time capsule in the coming months with current pupils from Miles Coverdale and St Stephen’s Primary schools, with their messages of hopes for the future.
