Phoenix School Farm
Volunteer for a day of good work to help local gardens get ready for the growing season. The Big Dig is a nationwide project which aims to get more people involved in community food growing. This year we are calling for volunteers to help dig for the day at Phoenix School Farm.
Started in 2007, the farm provides a learning resource for the school, local community groups and offers volunteering opportunities for local residents. Comprising of glasshouses, polytunnels and a series of beds, fruit and vegetables of all description are produced together with medicinal herbs, plants to attract wildlife, and edible flowers. The site is also home to rabbits, guinea pigs, bees and chickens as well as a wildlife pond.
We have the tools and gloves, no experience necessary, just turn up!
