Hampton Court Flower Show Garden

This year the BTEC Horticultural Students at Phoenix School are working with the Farm to create a Show Garden at Hampton Court Flower Show. Incorporating the student’s design ideas the garden recreates an 18th Century Market Garden, including historical fruit and vegetable varieties grown at Phoenix School Farm. Preparing for the show has been a collaborative effort with 80 Year 7 children planting seeds and potting up plants ready for the show. The farm volunteers have of course added to the success of the project with their on going hard work maintaining the farm and the plants for the show. The project is supported by The Salt Yard Restaurant Group, Quadron Services and Taylor Woodrow.
The garden has the meander of the River Thames running through the middle. One enters the garden from the ‘east’ as the exotic products would have arrived from upstream in the 1800s and journey through the garden to the ‘south-west’ corner of the garden, where the market stall is for the sale of produce.
