Grow Well and Get Out There! Courses – Now Taking Bookings For 2013 Courses Starting In January

Volunteer tending to plants

Our new programme Grow Well launched in September 2012. We will work with local people across the Hammersmith and Fulham borough to provide therapeutic gardening sessions for carers to give them a break from their caring responsibilities and run supported volunteer gardening sessions for people who  initially need a bit of extra support hopefully leading to their participation in our regular volunteering sessions. The next 12 week course runs on Tuesdays 10am – 12pm and will be based in the glasshouses in Ravenscourt Park but will incorporate visits to our other sites and places of horticultural interest.  The next course starts on Tuesday 15th January.  For more information and to register your interest please visit the Grow Well page on our website.

The next Get Out There! course will run for six weeks, starting on Thursday 24th January.  Through our 6 week training course (one day/week) trainees learn a range of useful and rewarding new skills in basic environmental management. Gain practical conservation management skills, experience in tool use, improve their wildlife identification and lots more!  We are particularly interested in recruiting people who have been long term unemployed. You don’t need any experience to join in.
